LOL, has anyone copied and forwarded this thread to their local FBI? I'm sure they have already obtained the court order to get his ip address. Then a few weeks will pass before he gets served!
lol...youve got to be kidding me.
better put him on the no fly list too just to be safe

I was all for having an aluminum design, but not if it looks like that. That thing is just ugly. I like this concept the most, just without the circle around the Apple logo, and none of those ugly colors like the pink, blue, green, etc.

Hey I would buy this one. It look way better then the shell they have posted..

"Bugs". That's so funny. Like it wasn't something indented by Big Brother, make that Apple. We truly do have a new evil empire now.
I presume you have hard proof of this unfounded claim I hope.

Before my recent purchase of an iMac my whole family used AMD PC's, and I found that they performed pretty well at low-heat to. I had a AMD 64X2 4400+ and it ran idle at 30C , it maxed out around 40 with stock heatsink.
While I'll admit Intel is ahead right now in tech. AMD does have "native" quad-core which should perform better than the Intel Quad-Core machines and on the lower-end AMD chips are in my opinion a great deal. They're also have some low-end chips which are going to be used in the OLPC so it could be used in some sub-notebook maybe?
But I don't think we'll see Apple add some AMD chips to their lineup for at least 6 months.

I'm sure you're not a journalism professional. I don't think the point of this should be whether it was funny or not. Fine, you found it funny, others didn't, that's the nature of jokes. The point is: the press observes. One cannot observe something without influencing it or changing it in some, at least, small way. But it is not the business of the press *to set about to* change or influence that which they observe.
i'm not a journalism professional, i'm an electrical engineer major (about to graduate). something like this is funny. yes it's disruptive. did it cost millions to companies? doubtful. Perhaps security should be better. Allowing a few people to easily ruin presentations and shut down walls of displays is an absurd thought. that shouldn't be able to happen at an event of this size. perhaps, a company should be aware of cheap hacks that can foil their displays. it was stated on this thread the rs-232 ports are designed for features like this. use em.
ban the individual jerk(s) that did this. not the whole blog.

In terms of new stuff I think just the thin portable, as that's the only thing there's been any leaks/evidence for (the leaks usually have everything covered!)
Other than that, refreshes - in order of likelihood: MBP refresh with the new keyboard (even tho I think it'd look a bit odd if it's white), 16GB iPhone (not 3G yet), Glossy ACD option, Cheap ACD option (watch for the gradients and poor quality!), MacBook refresh, maybe some tweak to the ATV, maybe a non Glossy iMac option (just to wind up those who bought an iMac and dislike it!).
Things I don't expect them to update: the iMac (already done recently), the Mac Mini (ditto and they don't like updating it), or any of the iPods (also too soon) or the Mac Pro or XServe (that would be silly, and the place would get firebombed)

they should allow users to like or dislike iAds to help cater the iAds that are sent to the user
Read the description: "...lets you tag your favorites to a Loved section thats all your own."
You can't "dislike" them and it doesn't say what they're doing with the "loved" section other than saving it for your personal viewing pleasure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually catered to your preferences using something like this.

And for me it comes full circle....
I couldn't believe it today when I checked my profile that I've been a member here for nearly a year. But it makes sense - Jobsie keynoting MWSF 2006 was front page news when I joined.
Here's to another great MacWorld :)

I am looking forward to installing Windows 8 on my MBA via Parallels. From what I'm seeing, it's looking good, very good!
Here's a few pictures of the Windows App Store.

What additional value does this provide?
I don't see this ending well. See ratings for front page articles.
Exactly rdowns & miles01110. If people can't even adequately vote on a news post, how can we expect this to add any value?
Use the Report Post feature to alert the moderators.
The goal of post votes is to identify the comments that others most agree with or appreciate seeing.
We ask that you vote based on the content of the post, not on who made the post, i.e., not target particular users for + or - votes, and that you not vote for posts that you know are inappropriate in the thread (off-topic, insulting, spam, etc.). But each logged in user can vote on any post as they please, without giving a reason, so being a good citizen is on the honor system.
However, you should not solicit other users' votes for or against posts. If you see that type of request, report the post and it will be removed.
If there are kinks in the system, we'll work them out.
Honestly, I'd like to think that this would be the case but we've seen contrary evidence. Sad, but true.
And it didn't even take me long to find an example:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12435223&postcount=46
What did he say in that post that is so deserving of the negative ratings?
That's just the issue. You'll soon find that the less than popular members or the members with less than popular things to say will be voted down. If it comes down to it and posts aren't seen by all just because some random members have hurt feelings over certain ideas then what's the point of being here?
I for one feel that if you're going to have this then also allow us to filter posts by rating. This way you can truly ostracize those who have unpopular things to say in a truly effortless way. This site will soon be all kittens and ponies and a better place for those with thin skin.

It says it's a "shopping event" (http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/shopping/?CDM-EU-0994) though, not a sale.
It's hard to decide from the ad whether it means special prices or not - I'm about to order a Macbook and can't decide if it's worth waiting!!
