I've recently installed a 2.33ghz c2d chip in my old 1.66 cd mac mini. The performance boost has been great!

I've noticed temps have gotten a little high while running encodes and such... around low - mid 90s C while handbrake is encoding. I know this is still within operating temperature, but i'd like them to be a little lower.

I managed to keep the plastic clips from breaking while installing my cpu. I've been thinking about replacing the nylon clips with some nylon screws, like others have mentioned.

My question, Do people use the springs that came with the clips when installing the screws? Or do people just screw the heatsink down snug to the cpu without the springs?

Hi,

I got my iphone 4 last October and now with normal every-day usage the battery is almost dead half way through the day. Do I need to calibrate the battery? If I do how would I go about doing that?

You cannot - unless you use a 3rd party product - pasword protect a folder. You can, however, change it's properties so that only you can access it (which would fail of people could access your desktop while you were away) or, better, use Disk Utility to create a new, encrypted folder which is extremely secure and which no one can open unless they have the password to decrypt the files.

Smalldog lists the their used iMac (with the same specs as mine except mine has more ram) at $800. $1000 may be high but that's why this is just a feeler. I do have some additional software but my son destroyed the discs (love my 1year old!!) I have dmg. of a few of the programs. I realize though that I can't list them on this forum.

I am very surprised that your parents policy does not cover yours- if you are family and living there it should, but again every policy is different. So you might see if it is cheaper to just add your stuff to their policy if their company allows it.

I thought it was at 10am Pacific Standard Time, which would be 6pm here. :confused: Am I totally gone or is it starting at 9am PST? (which would be 5pm here)

Yes I do! :D

1. Go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/. Then scroll down to iPhone / iPod touch / iPad / Apple TV and then click the arrow to scroll down and select your device and firmware. Then click download and save it to your desktop or downloads folder.

2. Go to http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ and on the right you can download TinyUmbrella according to your operating system. Save this to desktop or downloads folder.

3. Go to http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/products/view/ireb.snow and download iREB RC4 according to your operating system and unzip the file to your desktop.

4. Once all downloads are complete plug in your device and run iREB. Then choose your device, and follow the instructions to get into PWNED DFU mode. Then open TinyUmbrella and click on Start TSS Server. These programs will bypass a few errors in iTunes when you are downgrading.

Why don't you go to the website of the manufacturer and look for a driver for OS X? I'm assuming this is an HP, if it is, they have a bunch of drivers that sometimes have to be installed first.

I'm just the opposite. After 18 years of using Macs if Apple doesn't hurry up and get a mid range product between the mini and the Pro where I can use my own monitor I'm likely to switch to PC's.

Until Apple has the computer I want I not interested in any of Apple's other products.
