I think I'm going to take it in and see if they'll switch it. Only problem is taking my palmguard off and whther it will reapply as well. I got it on perfectly as well on this one! It has warranty until November so I may leave it for a bit or wait until I have a little more time available.
Maybe if they see that i clearly cherish this little thing they may feel more inclined to help me out

I is possible that your backlight may be failing.
And LCD's backlight will fail eventually, but that takes years and years. If yours is failing now, I hope you have AppleCare or something.

Apple replaced my original with this one in Mid-april.

Your MBP does not have the SATA III connection required to get the max performance out of the M4. Your MBP has only a SATA II connection, so even though the M4 would work it will not give you peak speeds shown in benchmark tests.
Look at the test at the top of this page (http://www.anandtech.com/show/4253/the-crucial-m4-micron-c400-ssd-review/8) that shows overall system performance. Note the M4 at a SATA II connection and the Intel 320 are about the same speed.
With the same performance and better price and reliability of the Intel, I hink Intel is your best choice.

There is no way to change the graphics chip on ANY iMac. They are all soldered to the logic board.

I posted the same question here some time back but got no response(N) So, i done some digging for myself.
When i done mine it was for a DofE (A Charity), which meant i was after a rather free option, i found YawCam (http://www.yawcam.com/). Downloading their software, i was then able to stream live onto a html page, which they set up for free! I then embeded it into my own website.

Would a normal pc or a netbook with an attached higher quality webcam (thinking of going with a higher quality Logitech - does the app work with their cameras?) be enough? What about bandwidth usage? Wouldn't I need a really fast upload connection if I'm planning on using a direct stream? Cable modem? FIOS? Or is there some service which allows you to stream to them and they relay to your site (similar to Justin.tv or Stream.tv, though I'd prefer not to deal with them in particular)?

I just ordered an iMac with SSD + 1TB hard drive. I'm assuming that when Apple builds the system, that they just dump everything onto the SSD. What are the correct steps for moving the home directory from the SSD to the hard drive? My plan is to install all applications on the SSD, but have the data (my user files, iTunes library, photos, media, documents, etc.) on the hard drive.

You are unlikely to get the answers you seek without giving us a lot more than you already have. Post any code you have tried that doesn't work. Post links to the Java code that you think does what you want, etc...
Especially if this sounds like homework, you need to at least try to solve it.

I'm about at the limit of my knowledge from what I remember about these sorry.

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.
I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I think that will be the best option for me. If I become unhappy, I'll sell my iMac or return it within the 30 Day Mark.

in essence, what needs to be done is the middle part of your post, i want to open a text file, read it off line by line and create a dummy image with the filename of each line.
photoshop can't generate these filenames because they're not sequential.
so how could that be achieved? you think automator can do such a thing?

At this point im just frustrated. I changed the host file with this ip 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com Then I followed all the steps and got 4.2.1 on. When I went to jailbreak, I got it into DFU mode but the jailbreak failed. Now I just want to update to 4.3 but I cant because I dont remember what I changed and replace with this 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com. Anybody know the original text so I can update to 4.3?

I'm an Android guy but I bought an iPad 2. Since I didn't know much of the app store, I bought an app for $9.99 with my mom's credit card (it's on her account). but i wanted to use my 25 dollar gift card, i didn't know you were supposed to redeem it first -___-.

Besides those of you who got to be at NAMM, I really want to know more about FCX. I read the blogs and watched the bad video of the show except I really want to know more about FCX. It's under a month away so why keep so much secret... This is an application not an iPhone so I don't see a reason not to go into more detail. Just put up on the website. Yes my patience is wearing thin because I have been waiting for an update for a very long time. In my view I don't see a problem with apple telling us more about this product.
I'm obviously excited and from what I read many others are to, so just give us a little info to hold us over.
