Concerned about my adoptive dad's memory loss, I started folding in 2002. I know that it won't help him but it might help the suffering of those who are caretakers and sufferers in the future.

We know so little about biology, so if this little bit helps, all the better.

"Battery life is better" is the new "Safari seems snappier".

These are the ONLY things Apple said about 4.3.3, so what are you people on about?

If you do a little bit of searing, you can see some pretty cool videos by people using nothing but iPhones, especially the iphone4.
Has anyone here played with the iPhone 4 to do some videos?
I have bought some stuff on eBay such as a wide angle lens and macro lens to play with. I am having a hell of a time trying to find a 15ft or longer 3ring cable extension to attach a external mic to. But once I have that, I'll use another eBay toy to mount it on a small tripod.
Some might wonder why I am bothring with the iPhone as a video tool, but the fact that I can carry a HD camera kit in my shoulder bag is too convenient not to try.
I'll be using it do interviews and creative work.

    More to come.

Wow! I've been thinking about doing an iPhone project myself ever since the 4 came - the idea seems fun (me being a total newbie with shootng)! Now you got me REALLY wanting to get it on!!

What lenses and equipment would you say is necessary? Is some kind of wireless mics an option?

    Hi all,

I recently purchased the new 2011 MBP and a friend provided me with a cracked, full version of iWork which was installed as normal and required a serial number which worked successfully.
My MBP is now telling me that there are software updates available for it however I was wondering if anyone knows if I perform the software update will my version no longer work (i.e. will apple know I did not buy the product and it won't let me use iWork anymore)?

    Thanks
    Daniel

Thanks for the link to the compatibility chart.

What format of video do I need? It appears that Mpeg-4 is out of the question and totally unnecessary for my application.

Is there any benefit to it over Mpeg-2

I just want really high res and clean footage.

G.Skill without a doubt. Used 2-4GB Sticks in my 2011 17 inch MBP, and this 4GB kit of 2x2GB will work fine for your need, and only $41.99 shipped: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231213

Just an FYI, the 2008 MacBook (Late Aluminum Unibody I assume) will only read RAM as 1067 MHz, not 1333 MHz. You can put 1333 in them, but they will just under-clock them to 1067.

You will be fine with the D90 for many years. I personally wouldn't think of a camera/lens as an "investment" as it will not increase in price like a nice painting.

My personal choice in kit lenses would be 18-70mm and 70-300mm.

^Thank you for that chart. I'll have fun cleaning it out, for sure.

The iMac I bought off of eBay has a the ABS. I'll have to get used to not using a back-lit keyboard, but I think I'll be fine.

    First off, calm down.

Secondly, do you have anything on the HDD that you need backed up?

If you do not, just put in your original discs that came with the computer and hold down the C key while starting up to boot off the disc. Then, use Disk Utility once the Installer loads to format your HDD and reinstall your OS.

The big idea is you will probably void your warranty doing the mods, and seeing as to how Macs need warranty these days, less obligations for Apple! :D

a 500 dually should be planty fast, although im not sure if those 2 500s act as a 1ghz in osx, or if the application has to be multithreaded

maybe somone could answer thatActs as two 500MHz CPUs, the OS does a decent job of handling the threads in Tiger now.

But most apps aren't really multithreaded, unless you take a look at some of the Pro apps.

Even with BSDs SMPng, people still say there are some problems with the way Tiger handles threads and a ways to go.

But there is a lot to like about OS Xs SMP capability also.

OS X is much better than OS 9, which would basically make use of the machine as a single 500 MHz machine -- except for the apps that make use of the multi-CPU extension for some of their filters and plug-ins.

Now I'm wondering, they say the first 500 people there will get a free T-shirt, is that the first 500 that actually buy Leopard, or the first 500 that walk into the store? I ordered online, and because of the issues with not being sure whether MacMall is going to ship it and have it to me on Friday, I'm still teetering with cancelling the order, going to the store, buying it with my student discount and getting the free T-shirt.

Go legit. You answered your own question, then, un-answered it.

"I have no problem buying legitimate copies of these Apps..."

"how I can fix this problem short of... ... buying the legitimate versions..."

Now, un-jailbreak your phone so you can stop ripping off software for juvenile kicks ( oooh, boobies!!!), like you said:

"most of them were ones people paid a small fee for"

But not you, 'cause you're special.

If you have dreamweaver, you can try using their library functions. It allows you linked any tables, texts, layers to a library item so when you update that library item, every page that uses that item gets updated. Same goes for their template.
I thought about doing that, but using libraries would require me to upload all pages affected every time I update the library functions, correct? If that's the case I was hoping for something less time intensive, due to there being many pages. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Perhaps you should try removing the file com.apple.airport.preferences.plist from the folder you find it in. Perhaps some of the preferences are corrupt.

Also, I'd check to make sure the antenna is plugged in correctly. :)
