Why not simply report any thread title that you think is inappropriate? After all, that's what this button http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/report.gif is for.

The name is pretty lame and the "logo" is worse - most reasonable people will just think you misspelled published. Keep trying unless you don't care about brand. And as for Umlauts... don't use them unless you have a purpose other than hiding a bad mark.
I'm pretty sure that the people who are commenting that they like the name or the logo have little professional experience to back up their claim. Just because someone says something is good doesn't mean that it is.

Why can't I change icons for a file just by dragging an icon from one info window to another? It is inconsistent with how the rest of the OS X user interface works, I think.

First, it's ALL 3rd party RAM, since Apple doesn't make RAM. They put other manufacturer's RAM in their computers. Second, upgrading the RAM or hard drive yourself is not a violation of warranty, so there's no need to put the original RAM back before service. Hang onto the original RAM, in case you have a problem with the RAM you buy.
They wouldn't, anyway. See above.
Apple Warranty: Installing Memory, Expansion Cards, User Installable Parts Does Not Void Warranty (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=13946)

Thank you for the reassurance. :D

It's always hard to say.... personally, I've always bought my new macs after a new release.... but it depends how much you need that powerbook right now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe SSD's with the Sandforce controller such as the Vertex 3 don't need TRIM as the controller takes care of this function.
yeah that's what i have heard as well...
to be honest i wouldn't even really worry about it... i don't think it's going to drastically kill the performance of your ssd and require replacement after a year. By the time your ssd does end up failing, whether you have trim enabled or not, ssd's will likely have come down in price A LOT, and you will want to upgrade to a bigger one anyways.
just my .02 but i know all the worry warts will insist they need trim... i guess do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Besides Ebay? I'm not lookin for much, I just want to get rid of them. Any suggestions?
Rip them, then sell them at a new and used CD store.
In the Bay Area, try Rasputan.

3. in /etc/httpd/users/<username>.conf, make it like this (substitute your username, obviously):

I'm trying to fix 5 year old Macbook for some one .The problem is hard-drive space used up but the person has very little pictures ,music and work on the computer.
Some how only 7GB free of the 80GB hard-drive.
There is a similar thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=672477
Thread never got resolved.
well normally when I'm trying fix the same problem on PC running windows it is do to.
1.Bad sector
2.swap file /page file
3.hidden OS system support files
4.malware
5.windows files to keep OS running and windows needs lots of files and I mean lots, lots and lots of files!!!
But do not have that much experience here. What could the problem be.
I would try emptying all of the caches first (I once reclaimed 50 gb doing this!). There are freeware tools such as Onyx that will do this for you.
You could also use a tool like diskinventory to identify any large swap files that might be hanging around.

hmm. do we have any numbers for other machines folding the same units? i would like to see how it stacks up to an i7 920 at stock speeds.
Maybe we should create a thread here for that? I know there's some on the actual folding forums but one here may be easier to navigate.

If cost is a issue OWC usually has great deals on their ram and seems to have a great warranty to back it up and will let you trade in old ram to knock the price down even further.
Seen that and it seems like a great deal.
Its worth noting though that if you bring in a computer with aftermarket RAM installed to the GB, you will run into some issues. Unless you REALLY need the extra cash back, id put the original apple RAM in that antistatic bag that the new stuff comes in and stick it somewhere safe in case the need arises.
Just a thought....

I think that legreve gave you some really solid advice. You editing is really good, way better than mine was when I was 15. Just concentrate on slowing down your zooms/pans and keeping the camera steady when you have to film.

Out of curiosity, why did you use a third party charger? I've done it a few times with other devices, but it's always been with quality, branded chargers (like charging my Kindle with my BlackBerry's charger), but I wouldn't dare do that with my iPad unless I knew it was top quality since so many of those third party chargers, like third party batteries, can damage your equipment.
By the way, I think using a third party charger may have voided your warranty anyway. At least on some devices I'm pretty sure it does.
No way third party chargers void warranty, if it did, we wouldn't have a single Apple device left with any warranty.
Anyway, OP is in luck, as 4.3.1 JB just came out. So he can just restore to that and see if that fixes his problem.
