I bought this via slickgate (http://www.slickgate.com/gevey-turbo-sim-unlock-for-iphone-4-ios-41-42-43_p990.html) for $10 and it worked perfectly on my ip4 with baseband 03.10.
Just pop in the sim w/gevey and then wait for it to load up, it gives you the instructions on the screen, hit accept, dail 112 wait till the screen changes and then count to 3 after that hang up and turn on airplane mode and wait till it says no SIM (pop up) and then turn off airplane mode, you get a few more pop ups and then bham its unlocked until you restart

The "right" amount is a bit subjective. WinXP requires 1.5GB of space, but you'll also need room for additional hardware drivers, room for temporary space/virtual memory, and room for games. You'll need to consider how much space your games will need. On my 500GB HDD, I partitioned off 100GB. It's not nearly enough for all the games in my library, but it allows me to have several of them installed while running Win 7.
However, I don't think there's a right answer that anyone other than you can provide. Also, read the Bootcamp message and make sure it supports WinXP. I know the 2011 MBPs do not.

Is there any way to silence once and for all a Blu-Ray burner in Mac Pro (No disk inside). I have tried two different units, one from LG and another from HP. They sometimes began to emit annoying sound, as in old western movies (night scenes), if you know what i mean.
Is it some kind of oscillation or what?

I've recently noticed- some iLife apps are not working. The biggest concern is iPhoto - I've opened up iPhoto '11 (iLife 11) but it says:
What version of iPhoto you running..
The OP stated iLife 11

Let me guess- this was proposed by a Tea Party member.
Tea party fascists should be put up against a wall and shot! They would do this in my country.

Could get Kanye West in to have another (well deserved) pop at Bush?
Let's try to keep this in community instead of having it moved to politics. There's a time and place for political stuff, this isn't either.

The Perl examples there looked just too cryptic to me.
I think you've hit on one major reason why some of what might have been done done in perl ~15 years ago is likely to be done in python or maybe ruby today.
Perl is extremely powerful, but you can do a lot of what you say you want with chains of other "single function" tools like awk, grep, sort, uniq, ....

I perused it a bit, and the screen shots did throw me in for a bit of a loop. I wasn't sure what to look out for. Perhaps Spotlight-like dimming only the relevant information and the removal of extraneous items like signatures, could help make it easier for someone to digest.
The screen shots could be saved as .GIFs instead of JPEGs for more space savings. What's the Wiki etiquette on other users updating an original Guider's screenshots?
I'm a newb at this, but something like this might be helpful. (#2.)

I love my iPad beyond belief, but buying another one (at least before the second gen comes out) is an epic waste of money.

Because they are using the illegal tethering issue to force people off grandfathered unlimited data plans. And to collect the legal tethering fees. You just put a block on there and they've got no leverage.

Well, I used the official documentation for the first aluminum 15" PB (which is what I have). It says to use a "dentist pick" to undo the clip. An allen wrench works fine, as long as you don't drop it into the optical drive like I did

Sorry - slow reply. If it's an upgrade thing, well, than that's fine! As long as the people who are up to date can see it that's ok. I need to find an up to date tester now!

Download Dropbox... done.
Keep it simple to set up, it's free and works perfectly. I use it to work on docs from home, work, my laptop and my iPad.
Pay a little and get a lot more server space.

Sorry to hear about the problem.
Might want to try Apple Store next time.
If you want a discount on a Mac, go for the refurb at store.apple.com
Refurb Apple products look like new, and has same warranty as new Apple products.

This will have absolutely no effect on SSDs (http://cseweb.ucsd.edu/users/swanson/papers/Fast2011SecErase.pdf) beyond simply wearing them out. A single pass is more than adequate.
awesome techy article yet 2 questions:
why would an SSD/Flash Drive wear out within the life of the machine?
(even with heavy 'normal' use)
if it indeed did, then what's AppleCare for?
if you can't get 3 years out of a storage device running Mac OSX - even erasing and reinstalling the :apple: OS once a week - then something's amiss.

I love mine!
Yeah it's thick, but seriously, I can throw my iPhone 4 and your glasses will crack, not my phone's.
Check out some videos on youtube, saw some people drop weights on the thing. When I bought mine, the lady had her phone in it and threw it to the ground (I shrieked like a lil girl) and low and behold, the phone was fine.
Oh and you can use the clip for a stand as well.

The ad is very misleading. The auction is over so there's nothing to change that. I'm very sure the seller must think it's new. No way a refurbished one sells for that much when a brand new one can be bought for less than that unlocked on Ebay from what I have seen.

I'm actually looking forward to it. I still have a 3GS and will need a retina display to test my Apps on the high resolution screen. So I can't wait until iPhone 5 arrives.
