Here in the UK we would love capital punishement to be reintroduced, a life for a life as they say.
There have been countless miscarriages of justice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_miscarriage_of_justice_cases#United_Kingdom) proved since the death penalty was banned in the UK and probably many others which have not yet been successfully appealed.
Many of these innocent people would have faced the death penalty, does that not concern you?

I've been using it for a few months. While it does exactly what I need it to do, it does lag often and I also suspect that it crashes my iPhone. I end up having to reboot.

I love life in the melting pot, it's the one thing I really miss about living in London, there's just a degree of culture clash that you don't get outside of the capital.
I'm in London now and enjoying the mix of people. Nothing wrong with immigration and other people, "culture" isn't something that must be rigidly protected.

Why all the negatives? Patches are a good thing.
They are... but the JB people hate it because it breaks their JB if they upgrade.
Anyway... there are a couple annoying little bugs in the current software so an update is good.
I've seen the "unlock the home screen" bug. Happened once or twice to me. And I've noticed slightly worse battery... but the last update really seemed to fix that for me.
Good to see Apple proactive in keeping updates coming.

Virus protection? Useful perhaps, what with all the viruses on Macs now-a-days.
I'm sure a lot (if not most) users of the .mac webmail interface are accessing it from a Windows PC. So yes, virus protection makes a lot of sense here.

Both. I won't pass judgement or defend that because the gov't sees someones as an adult that they are wise enough to make responsible decisions. What I personally think could matter less.

in the middle of way open area at Union Square Park in NYC had 2 dropped calls. Customer services response? Install app on iphone that lets us know where your call was dropped. Sure let me do your work, and pay for that privalage.
And how do you expect them to find out what is going on? Magic? All they wanted you to do was install an app that would let them run a diagnosis. Are they supposed to send some one over to you to take your phone and install it for you?
You do realize that that would increase the time it would take them to find the problem by, a helluva lot vs. the few seconds it would take you to install that app. And it would be wasting a lot of gas and pay time to send that person out for something you could do in a few seconds.
How lazy can you be to complain that they dare want you to do a few seconds of work so they can help you?
I've never come across a company that will baby the customer that much. Apple still insists I drive my computer over to their store for them to look at. When I was calling in about a broken monitor, I had to *gasp*, look for the serial number on my computer for Gateway. I guess you'd expect them to send some one over to do that for me?

I agree wholeheartedly. Despite the fact that I work for the same company that owns the FT, I am disgusted by this reasoning. I definitely won't be subscribing to the pink paper any time soon.

To all the people incensed that they've been labelled high-risk (for whatever reason) and not able to give blood, for goodness sakes… it's not about you. Go and spend one night a month washing dishes in a soup kitchen or something if it's really about giving to the community. There are no shortage of things you can quietly do to give to others.
To everyone else, it just means we have to give more blood to make up for the loss! It's great if this thread has inspired you to give. It was many years before I finally started donating… Not because I didn't want to, but like a lot of things, I just never got around to it. Then I saw a mobile blood van and thought… right, no excuses for putting it off.
Now someone in my family has been receiving blood to deal with a potentially life-threatening condition, so we are so thankful to the mystery donors!
I'm AB+ (universal recipient) which is handy.

It's not under the Applications or Volumes tabs. You need to be looking under the 'System' tab, in the 'Network Icons' row. ;)
