how is this any different than microcenter selling the 13.3" MBP for $999.... $200 less than Apple sells it for. last week I was in the apple store in NJ garden state plaza mall... they had the MBP for $1199. I drove 5 minutes away to the microcenter and quickly purchased one for my sister for $999 and only 3.5% tax. If microcenter can do it, I dont see why TJ MAxx cant.

Wow, that is one nasty Danish mockup. I hope it won't look like that.

Here's actually a nice touchscreen iPhone mockup:

I've been in many debates with people about the iPhone and I've always been on the side that Apple just shouldn't do one. Everyone always says that it would sell like hot-cakes because it would be an Apple phone, but my stance has always been that it would have to run on a particular carrier.
But lately I've been thinking about this and what if Apple bucked the system a little. They made a phone which connected directly to your computer and you downloaded the correct carrier setting to. So if you used Verizon, all you had to do is in setup select Verizon or Sprint....
I feel that one of the big problems with mobile phones is the computer connectivity has always been an afterthought, mainly because they're not computer companies. But what if Apple created a new iApp which managed the phone (ran on both Windows and OS X), which made the connectivity easy. This is basically what happened with the iPod.
Would the carriers care that a generic iPhone ran on their network, maybe the stupid ones, but in the long they're lives would be easier, because they wouldn't have to market the phones, just their service (which is where they really make their money).
I also like the idea of using the click wheel to make a retro style digital-rotary phone. However, I doubt Apple would just display the numbers on the screen and not on the unit. So when in dial mode, you would spin the click wheel and the numbers, displayed on the display in a circle, would highlight the number that you were on and then click the center button on the click wheel to select. If you wanted to get really old school, you could have the rotary sounds come through the headphones. Or course you would still be able to dial by your address book or search through a downloaded version of the white or yellow pages (which would naturally sync into your phone whenever you charge it at home, via blue tooth or direct connection to your computer).

But what if torturing a person who is involved in the plans of a terrorist attack could prevent thousands of deaths?
Torturing would never be a good action, but it is like killing someone to defend yourself, killing is bad, but the result of killing saved your life.
In the case of torture, it is the government defending its people (country). If it can be avoided better, but I would rather authorize torture instead of letting attacks happen.
EDIT: As with everything, every single case needs to be analyzed separately.
The type of country which is willing to torture people will always inspire more violence against them. You might save 100 lives today and lose 10,000 lives the next year because of that behavior.
The ends don't justify the means torture is wrong period.
Would you support forcible medical testing on people if that forcible testing might save hundreds of thousands of lives in the future?

Oh wow! Oh wait. I have four apps that already did all that when the iPad was first released. How about masks, brushes, stamp tools, and decent selection tools? Do they not know how far behind they are with this?
And all this debate over usefulness of the iPad. Forget it. If you are a creative professional and you have an iPad, and you haven't figured out to use it to make your work faster and better. I say you are lacking some creativity. I've been using the first iPad from day one for sketching, figure studies, portfolio reviews, etc. See for yourself on my website. It is no toy- if you know what you are doing.

There's 2 jailbreak apps for this. One creates a daemon that constantly deletes the location files. Another onewipes out the location history and then does a wipeout of each location currently.
A lot of people are saying this is no big deal. According to the hacker that found this out, a hacker can hack onto the computer that the backup is located on and find out all of your locations.
All the people saying, "I don't sell drugs so I have nothing to worry about" or "I have nothing to hide" are probably the same people who voted for homeland security.......and we can all see how good that was...NOT.

http://www.macrumors.com/images/macrumorsthreadlogo.gif (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/07/ataris-greatest-hits-for-iphone-ipad-and-icade/)
Atari has released a new emulator for the iPhone and iPad called Atari's Greatest Hits (http://appshopper.com/games/ataris-greatest-hits) [iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ataris-greatest-hits/id422966028?mt=8)]. The free universal download comes with Pong and also offers a selection of 100 classic Atari arcade and 2600 console games for in-app purchase. The full list of games can be seen here (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/06/atari-brings-100-retro-titles-to-ios-in-ataris-greatest-hits/) but include Asteroids, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Gravitar, Star Raiders, Missile Command, Tempest, Battlezone, and much more. Each 4-pack is offered for $0.99 or all 100 games can be purchased for $14.99.
The package has been well received (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/07/ataris-greatest-hits-review-my-god-its-full-of-pixels/) at sister site TouchArcade, but perhaps most promising is that Atari had previously announced support (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/01/08/ces-2011-icade-for-ipad-magic-mouse-inductive-charger/) for the iCade iPad gaming accessory.

LOL it amazes me how little you guys know about the law. Please report me to the authorities, there is absolutely nothing they can do legally. I even discussed it with my professor who monitored my bar and he got a kick out of it as well haha.
So please, humor me that I'm not a real law student and don't know what I'm talking about. Sorry Apple geeks your area of expertise obviously isn't the political discourse of America. :P
Try my other theories too, like entering my home, etc. Seriously, just humor me. (more so than I already am) LOL

Lotus Notes is such a horrible product for an email client. Notes existed long before they added email capabilities, and then they retrofitted email into the product.
I like to use an email product where I can get access to all my email accounts (both personal and work related). Luckily in Notes you can have it forward your email to another email client. So I read my Notes mail in Apple's Mail client.
I'm not bitter :)

So I got my Photoshop on Mac last year and somehow, I think I accidentally pressed something. I used to have a transparent background whenever I use it so I can see the desktop but now it's all gray and boring. How do I turn it back? I have the Translucent option checked btw. Thanks for any help that will come.
