She can get letter from her employer that mentions that she's on maternity leave to prove that she is still employed and also that she can join back.

AFAIK if your Perm is approved then you can do premium processing of I-140 and get H1 extension after 140 is approved
I have already moved to company B. Have an i-140 approved from company A in 09/2006. Now that my 6 years are over in 5 months, waiting for Fragomen to determine appropriate strategy for extension since new Perm has not been pending for 365 days. Anyone have experience with extending H1 using company A I-140 when with company B?

I got my approval y'day from TSC. This marks the end of GC journey. Been with same employer since Aug 1999 ( 9 Long years...........).

I'm going to meet the lawyer to see what is the option here. But what is the best thing to do ...go back to India and get the H4 or apply the cos from h1->H4 from here?

I've to decide fast what to do....get the H4 stamped from India or do the COS from US. If we go to India and get the H4 stamping there is a chance that the consulate people might ask about H1 and if they found that my wife was out of status they might bar her from entering US.

Under this they will be obliged to give you a response in 20 days on whether they will provide the information or not (only yes or no). If they delay more than 20 days, you can file a lawsuit in any US district court. If you prove to the judge that you are entitled to this information, DOL must provide it.

Just heard this from my friend. His case is exactly the same (I140-NSC approved, July 2nd 9:01 R.Mickels filer). His got transferred to Texas and got receipts last week. No EAD's yet. Got receipt for FP date today.

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to get my SSN Done. I'm on a dependent H4 Visa and have my H1 approval .
I visited the SSN office with My I797, State ID and Passport : SSN officer straightforwardly rejected as I dont have my EAD card.
The Officer asked me to visit USCIS office to apply for EAD.
Please help me with this situation..Does a H1 get an EAD and then a SSN?

You can either be on H4 or H1.If you are on H4 you will not get an SSN No. Dependents are not eligible for SSN. You can get a denial letter from SSN office which will help you to get a Drivers License.
In case you entered the country on h4 and have now changed to H1, you would have received the approval notice with a new I-94 card printed on it at the bottom of the notice. Show that approval notice to SSN office and explain that you have changed your status to H1-B while in US. That should get you an SSN. On the other hand if your approval notice does not have the I-94 printed at the bottom of the notice, that means you have an H1-B approval but need to go out of US to get your H1 visa stamped. Until you do that your status is H4. So please check your approval notice,

My GC was filed by Chugh firm and I did not face any problems so far. I left my GC sponsoring company as well and still continuing with them for AC21 and other issues. In general, you have to carefully verify the data in the application that the firm feel up but that is applicable for any law firm you choose.
