I hope one of these versions is CDMA. GSM would be more practical from a non-locked, carrier-agnostic perspective, but I'd find it hard to give up the EvDO.

Hi All
I have managed to get the attention of the head if IT for the company I work for (a global engineering consultancy), regarding the companies plans to include macs as part of our IT infrastructure in the near future. We currently use windows XP on all machines connected to our network, so I figure an upgrade of the network must be coming sometime soon. At the moment there are no plans to even consider macs in the near future.
I would really like some good arguments to put to him regarding why mac's should be allowed on our company network and should form part of our IT systems.
So far I have come across articles suggesting that he should evaluate TCO, Security and downtime - But some decent studies along these lines would be good to send to him - or some applicable examples of how macs have been integrated into windows networks of greater than 2000 end clients.
Any suggestions, links or arguments that I could put to him would be great.

Hi everyone!
I like to listen to podcasts while im playing sc2 and alot of my podcasts are video's. Is there a way in itunes to play only the audio of the video podcasts (so the video isnt running in the background and potentially slowing my game down)?

You can just move them. By default they're installed to the Applications folder. Hopefully in future updates, App Store will allow the option where to install apps.

also currently building a 3.06ghz Pentium D machine with 64bit Ubuntu 10.10
I have applied for and recived my passkey and I am using the macrumours team code the name i am using for folding is fiddlesticks_13

P.S if anyone more technical minded than my self wnats to review any of the config files they are welcome and also is there a GPU version for Mac or CUDA Mac version I would like help with setting it up

If it is anything like my Subaru Baja... then I already know LOL
I have a Subaru myself, and while their interiors are pretty average at best, they are mechanically very reliable in my experience. Not as boring as a Camry either, though (apart from the turbo models) they aren't "performance" cars either, but more like SUV substitutes.
In the end it was just how fun the Cabrio was fun to drive that made me jump to the New Beetle. Reliability was the reason I dumped my New Beetle... made in Mexico. While the ex's Cabrio was made in Germany with no major problems. Go figure....
There is plenty of anecdotal evidence I've come accross indicating that the German-made VWs hold up quite a bit better than the Mexican-sourced models. I don't have any "official" info on whether that is true though.
I suppose reliability is one thing that might improve in the new models.

So like most people I tried to jailbreak my ipodtouch, but got it stuck on recovery mode, now I cant use my ipod touch, I dont know if I can recover it on itunes (but would rather not) so Im kind of desperate, HELP? :(

It's sad to see an "old timer" leave Apple, but I'm guessing that Serlet's financially set and wants to do some "pure" research at a university before he retires. Not everyone has that luxury.
It seems that OS X will be left in good hands, though.
I read somewhere he's perhaps not happy that iOS is gaining more influence over OS X. Certainly possible imo.

Again it seems society differs between the US and many other places. I could legally drink in restaurants with my parents and I think it's legal to drink from 16years when you're having a meal with at least one person over 18years at the discretion of the restaurant although most won't serve to protect their own license.
In the US, we seem to be really uptight about stuff.
Our sex-ed is highly abstinence-based, IF YOU HAVE IT. (I'm a senior, and I've only had the talk in fifth grade "your body is changing" That was the closest thing I ever got to sex ed.. and it wasn't really. YEEHAW TEXAS!!)

I told the woman several times "I don't want to drink or smoke, and I probably won't once I hit the age at which I legally can"
So, she had to ESCORT ME TO MY FATHER. Because "OMG!1!! (at the time) ~14 YEAR OLD AROUND BOOZE!11! SHE'LL GET DRUNK IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES 2 DRINK!"
Argh.

The key will be when Verizon gets the iPhone 5, as many have already said. But I don't see how contract commitments would be holding back current Verizon customers. Verizon customers have never bought a phone en masse like AT&T users with iPhones. Current AT&T customers looking to switch, however, would presumably be locked in to a 3GS contract for at least another couple of months, though at this point the ETF on a June or July 2009 contract is substantially less than another month of service. But they probably also believe a new iPhone will be coming in June, which might explain why they're content to sit tight.
Nothing about the CDMA iPhone matters until the new edition is released. Then we'll get a clearer picture of iPhone interest.
