I've been watching eBay and other forums for a couple of years waiting for the right time to unload my banners. I worked at CompUSA during the 2004 remodel of the "Apple Shop" and when we took down the huge 4 foot x 15 foot ones that hung from the ceiling and put up the ugly plastic ones I took 2 of the 3 that we had. I have Amelia and Jim Hensen. I saw someone on worthpoint auctions asking $25,000 for one about 6 months ago. I can't find anyone to tell how much they could be worth. I'm one of the watchers on your eBay auction right now by the way, just curious to see if anyone bites at your $1200 price tag.

i'm thinking of selling my 2G silver mini. i'd like to get a nano instead, or just "make do" with my shuffle for working out. it's in really good condition - only a few minor scratches on it and i have all of the accessories and original box. it's still under warranty for a couple more months as well, so applecare could be purchased for it. if this sounds interesting, let me know...

I've put a Samsung 470 Series 128GB SSD in my 2010 MBP17 and am very happy with it. Benchmark numbers don't mean much in real life, but I get about 230MB/s both sequential read/write. Spent $150 for the drive and $15 for the Optibay, both from eBay.
After two months of using the SSD, I'm used to the speed of SSD and many times when I use computers with regular HDD, I do feel SLOW.
I'm sure SSD will be standard once it becomes more affordable, but it may take years because of the price per GB now. Most people will want/need 256GB unless they have SSD/HDD setup so it will take some time to have SSD as a standard option in Macbook Pro's or other PC laptops. Of course, MBA's have SSD's as standard but is 64GB or 128GB really enough for you??

4th Gen iPod Touch skins now available at Best Skins Ever. I have their skin on my 1st gen iPhone as well as 80GB iPod classic, no issues at all. Cost is $6.99 for the full body skin. I thought about doing that, but using libraries would require me to upload all pages affected every time I update the library functions, correct? If that's the case I was hoping for something less time intensive, due to there being many pages. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sorry for jumping in, but...
I'm also new to all this kind of thing and have no knowledge of home networking at all really!
I currently have a MBP 15" i7 and a DP PowerMac G5 (that I'm still using as my desktop), my son will soon be getting a Mac Mini and I'm (slowly) saving money for a Mac Pro!
My questions are... Could I still use the G5 as some kind of server for the rest of the macs in the house, what would I need to install and what benefits would I get from doing this?

sorry, I should have mentioned that I've checked ifixit.com, and they have no specific directions on that. All they say is "Remove the following ten screws: Two 9 mm Torx Plus screws, Eight 2.6 mm 5-point Pentalobe screws. To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order."

While the 17 inch has enough room for such a beast, unless Apple have come up with new ways to cool their machines, and with their G5 experiments, they should have plenty ready, they won't be able to use something more interesting.
It would be nice to see a really amazing, slick machine with really high end portable graphics hardware but Apple will be conservative.

I'd say anything that comes in a plastic bubble, but the item packaging I despise the most? BAKERY PACKAGES. Pretty much everything from cookies to cakes comes in that brittle + hard plastic container that is huge and can't be crushed to fit in a recycling bin conveniently. My last half-sheet cake came in one of these things :O That's huge!
I don't understand what's wrong with selling cookies in cardboard boxes, with perhaps plastic film so you can see the cookies? Or why not just stick em in paper bags like Lucky does?
The only other form of packaging I think of that constantly gets on my nerves is battery packaging.

That was my reason for being vague about any specific brand, all multifuntion units leave a lot to be desired in the quality department.
There ain't no free lunch. The only reason that all the manufacturers can offer such seemingly good value for money, is because they cut corners where you can't see - at least not at first anyhow.

Ok, so it isn't really possible to build a complete website from scratch but I do want something that would allow me to make small changes. Basically I'm looking for something that will let me FTP to my site, download a page, edit it and then upload the changed page.
Is there anything out there that people can recommend?

I'm considering that, but if I were not to have phone functionality, I think I'd be better off with twice the storage. Although the iPhone would have a mail client, I could always just use safari for mail.
