    Dude,

This had been discussed may be thousands of time and discussion never ends. Do you really need to open a thread for this.

If it has been discussed many times then I regret to see we haven't achieved much out of this. But I believe persistence is the key to be successful in any cause.

Hi Friends - I work at a university and have been with them for 4 years. My boss plans on giving my a 10-12% mid-year pay increase. But our HR says that H1 workers are not eligible for mid-year pay hikes..?? IS THAT TRUE.?

Is there a INS rule that somebody can point me to which i can forward to my boss/HR which mentions that there is no pay increase issue with H1 visa holders..I searched on USCIS, DOL, etc..cannot find anything.

    Can somebody please help!

    Thanks in advace.!

I am in the same boat.File July 27. I140/I485 conccurently but so far I only have receipt for I140.Call USCIS over 10 times already no luck at all.And they told me that all applications from TSC are in the system. My lawyer call today and she was told that there are more cases from TSC that are still keying in for applications received during the month of July. So I ahve no idea what to believe.Call USCIS and request to check on your case.

    Hi Dhundhun,

I too have the same issue of not getting any RN nor the checks are cashed. Its been a month now. Today I called USCIS and they told me to wait for another month since no one has touched the application yet.

Thanks for this input. I'd call them around 10th of this month.

There was a joke on something similar. I hope no one finds it offensive. It is just plain funny.

This guy walks into a sex doctor's clinic and begins with "My friend has a problem..."

Doctor: Ok..Take off your pants and let us have a look at your friend.

I'd like to share an experience, because it made me laugh.

I got a notice to appear at Superior Court in January to perform Jury Service.

    Amazing....

I do not have EAD and my 485 app is pending, all i can do is get my h1b renewed, in my case without stamping and just 797 will they not give me drivers license extension ???

I dont think that should be a problem. AS Attorney Murthy suggested, talk to the supervisor at the DMV office. The I485 receipt should be enough.

went for infopass for correcting wife's DOB. Officer said it cannot be corrected here. After some protest, he took photocopies of birth certificate and passport and then sent e-mail to service center. Also, enquired about her EAD which is now pending for 110 days. Officer was not able to say why it is pending. just have to wait.

My wife went for her biometrics today and what a surprise, her date of birth on the system was wrong.
She only had DL on her and no passport. So, the ASC staff took her biometrics but refused to correct her DOB, claiming that passport was needed.
So, we called up USCIS and upon description of the problem, were immediately transferred to level 2. Level 2 looked at the cases and confirmed that DOB was wrong on I-485. It was correct in I-765 and I-131. She said that the only way to correct it was to take infopass and present passport and DL.

It is now more or less clear that DOB mismatch has caused her EAD to be stalled for so long.I have already got my EAD.

Moral of the story : take passport for FP, infopass, etc. all the time.

Our EADs and APs were filed separately with I-485 courier receipt. What a mess !!

lets see what happens at infopass.

First of all thanks for your valuable feedback.

FYI: I am a derivative I-485 applicant (my spouce is a primary 485 applicant).

So, Did you mean I can join an employer on EAD and file for green card processing (labor cert, 140, and 485) as a primary applicant with my prospective employer?

    Thanks,

I have no knowledge of Nikon's lenses.

But really no-one but you can tell what lens you may need. It depends completely on what your photography style, subjects and conditions are. Same as if I asked you what car I should buy: If I like to drive fast on mountain roads, a sporty model would be great. If I have five kids that need taking to school every day, I need a minivan. If I work as a builder and need to transport material, a proper van or truck is what I need, etc, etc.

If you do a lot of indoors photos with poor lighting, a big aperture lens is what you need.

If you do a lot of outdoors wildlife shots, you need a long telephoto lens of some sort (300mm or more), preferrably with a big aperture so that you can get some decent shutter times in morning and evening light conditions as well...

If you do architecture and need wide-angles, something like the Sigma 12-24mm superwide zoom could come in handy (I'm sure Nikon does something similar, but I just don't know the Nikon lenses well enough to tell you what it is).

A 100mm (or thereabouts) macro lens is always a good thing, as it allows you to take close-ups, and can double as a portrait lens and any other duty where a 100mm lens is appropriate.

Think about the situations where your photography has been limited because the lens wasn't doing what you needed it to do, and figure out what lens would do the job for you. Then figure out how to afford it. ;-)

After 6 months of EAD a person can change jobs, but his hiring company should give him the same title in which his application for a GC is filed.
(Same title and should be able to show that the company can pay him the pw)

So working for your own company after 6 months of EAD is kind of risk. You can work for a friend's company who can support you.

    Please consult your lawyer.....

    always seek legal advice.

You can use follow to join to allow your wife to get an EAD after she finishes her waiver (If you have a GC by then and your PD is current). I am not sure if she can immediately file after her waiver. Any gurus please reply. Signing another contract in a waiver location is painful (after initial contract pf 3 yrs is over). Also if anybody can reply on how much time we can stay legally after the initial 3 years.

As far as issues, its a lenghty and a painful journey to a waiver job and clearance. Needs a lot of work. But once you r thru with getting a H-1b to start the job should be no issues.

Let me know if you need anything. Mine is EB3 PD-04/2002 India and still waiting.

    Regards,

    Teky.

My brother moved jobs early last year. He filed AC21 and got an RFE immediately.
The move was parallel in job function and the pay was good.

They replied to the RFE and then never heard back. In these economic times, USCIS
is scrutinizing every doc that gets filed.

    Just an experience....

Unfortunately, like freeskier said, using external libraries isn't allowed. The rules aren't necessarily all encompassing, but this was a question that was asked before: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2422799&postcount=26

Your entry is really cool, and I am sure nobody doubts that. It is just for a competetion about programming, it is assumed that all code is your own :P

    Here you go!

Ok we have the poll, now can we start guessing when our dates will be current.

possibly we need another poll with these options asking when do you think your PD will be current

    1) 10-12 years
    2) 12-15 years
    3) 15 - 20 years

    :(
