I'm tempted to buy one just because of it's design/uniqueness and relatively low price.
"Music to my Ears" would be a good engraving, but I don't think I'd get an engraving just in case I wanted to sell it?

Interesting that you had problems with your cds. Usually I never encountered such a thing. I take care of them but not spend too much time worrying about it. Lots of my work are backed up on cd's and dvds as early as the 90's.
I agreed that having a Hard Drive backup is a good thing. I am interested in the high capacity of the BR and HD-DVD discs, but I refuse to pay $50 for a disc. I rather buy at Fry's on promotion a 300GB hard drive for $89. Much better deal.
Until then I think Hard drives are the way to go to archive huge files. It will be interesting when these new dvd discs cost around $5 for 50GB, then I will jump on it.

please post a pic of your non-apple monitor you use with your mac. i mean, if you use a samsung, dell, nec, etc. monitors that are not apple, if you know what i mean:cool:.;)

Patents only mean something if they're completely defended from copycats. I believe both companies are 100% correct in bringing legal action if they believe their patents have been violated without fair compensation.
As an AAPL shareholder, I am glad Apple is challenging all over with their patent portfolio, as it provides more intangible value to the company, its future products, and of course the stock values.
I hope Apple wins in all battles, and we should be behind them for seeking damages not ridicule them as I see on these forums so often.

My wife has bought a MacBook Pro and I have put Outlook 2011 on it. Can I sync my iPad's contacts and calendar without syncing with iCal and Address Book as these will have my wife's contacts and calendar which we don't want to mix. iTunes only allows syncing with Address Book and iCal.

If they are willing to sell the product at a $100 loss, that's their choice. You may not have a warranty, etc, because they aren't "authorized" by Apple as a price-controlled reseller, but that doesn't mean it's illegal for them to sell it.
I sold my iPad on craigslist at a loss. I'm not authorized to do that and Steve doesn't care.

Er, not necessarily. Age of consent laws vary widely... in most jurisdictions, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old can pretty much do whatever they want.

I wonder if Serlett's departure means more web focus since the new guy focused on the cloud? A new filesystem, being able to run web apps outside the browser, and a new UI would be nice for OSX� an internet layer built in using webkit (if that is possible) would be 3 nice new features, and with the new guy Ferengi or Fedenrigh or whatever� it could be possible?

I'm wondering how I can go about setting up my Mac so that I can share my family photos, but only to users on my home network. I'm often out on the road and use public wi-fi, as well as a work network, and I don't want anybody else to have access to these files.

I've been waiting 4 years to get an iPhone, and now that Verizon has the iPhone, I can finally get one when my contract is up for renewal this December :D However, it appears that Apple is no longer at the forefront of mobile technology. Even with the release of the iPhone 5 in the fall, I bet it will still be last years tech.

Rear projection, Steve has insisted in the past that Apple uses four projectors simultaneously, which produces the incredibly sharp picture.
