If you have no experience in this type of work, I would suggest using a service like Jotform. Easy, web-based form builder. They host the database. You can embed the from anywhere.

My favorite is NoLock. I do not have to swipe to turn my ipad or iphone on. VERY cool. To me, this one app is the single main reason to JB.
Agree 100%.

Since I got it so cheap, I want to upgrade the hell out of it and use it as my primary machine (age of it be damned). I want to expand the RAM fully to 16 GB, put a fast 2 GB HDD in, and get the best possible Video card available.
Good for you! Glad to hear another PPC admirer is willing to keep his Mac going even when the nay-sayers shoot your idea down. My 1.25ghz iMac G4 is my primary desktop at home, and my 800mhz one is my primary office desktop. I have to say, 9 out of 10 people that come in compliment my iMac. :) Your Powermac would likely receive equal compliments from me.
2. What is everyone's opinion to the possibility that after I get this thing where I want it, Apple will drop support for Leopard and I will no longer be able to sync my iPhone, iPad, or iPods to it. I of course, Plan to keep my Intel Macs running on the other end of the room (along with my "necessary" PC) but since I sit in THIS chair in my office most of the time, it would be nice to do everything from right here...
I can't answer your first question, but I have to say that this will likely come sooner than later. Within the next 2 years, I'd guess. Apple has a tendency to focus on 2 Operating Systems at a time - the current, and the most recent. Tiger is just about dead to them after a very long and happy life - longer than any Mac OS before it I'd say.
Since Leopard is the last string that ties PPC users have to the most recent Apple tech they can get their hands on, I'd say Apple would support it longer than Tiger, but not much longer than they already have. The iPhone 4 and iPad 2 both support 10.5.8, which surprised me - to my pleasure - and I'd guess the next round of iPods, the iPhone 5, and the iPad 3 would support 10.5, but my guess is that'll be it.
My iPhone 4 happily syncs with my iMac at home, and it's entirely convenient that my old desktop is my media hub, keeping stuff off my laptops, but the convenience won't be a measure when 10.5 doesn't support my iPhone. I'll always have an iPhone, and I'll keep my iMac G4 going as long as I can. When they drop support for 10.5, worst case, I'll have to migrate all my media to my MacBook - even though everything in one place (even backed up) isn't my ideal safety scenario.
Hope my thoughts help! Sorry for my long-winded post, as usual.

i would go with the g5 imac. prob the 20" if you are going to be doing loads of photoshop etc. the imac does have line out etc.
i second the jbl creatures, i have a set of the silver ones and the sound quality is really good.
also, how do you know there is going to be g5 powerbooks in the next 6 months?

Thanks for the replies.
I have an ATT iphone and the Trim fits perfectly. I also run with my phone and it fits fine in my Belkin armband w/o removing the case. I also like that the case comes with a dock insert. So far it has been the perfect case for me
How well does the Trim protect your phone? If I dropped my iPhone on a parking lot from about 3 feet do you think it would be ok?
Also, could you tell me which Belkin armband you have?
I do like CapsuleRebel but think that it may be a bit too bulky, especially for putting into an armband.
Does anybody have any comments on the Vulcan?
Thanks.

I'll try and make this logical-
Is there a quick way to include what the person I am quoting quoted when I quote them?
In other words, if somebody quotes me and I want to reply, when I press quote it only includes what they wrote, not what I originally wrote as well. On busy threads it can would be useful to be able to quote everything.
Thanks, hope that made sense!

You would have to import the CDs again on the other computer, or you could use software to extract the music from the iPod. If you have the CDs, I'd just import them on the other computer when you get it.

What is a good app for a newbie to create a webpage? I want something simple and easy, free would be a plus. I also have a simple knowledge of html.
After a lot of deciding, I bought and am now using Dreamweaver. It isn't free though. If you qualify for a student/faculty discount it is $99. I am using the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: the Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0596006314/qid=1127826156/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-6951142-5757641?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
which is helping me a lot. I love the tutorials which you can download from the books website.
I know I haven't given you any thrifty suggestions but I am pretty happy with Dreamweaver and that book. Good luck!

heh. lack of user support? more like too much support from the warez community... ;) http://mugget.com/web_images/twisted.gif
if you dont' know what really happened to it, dig up the whole story, very interesting, amusing and scary all at the same time. :D
it's probably unrealistic to expect a product that has massive appeal to the warez types not to be cracked and then freely distributed.
do you have any links to "the whole story"? I did some Google digging and I didn't get anywhere. thanks.

Store Manager was great. Team was great. They all chanted my name and gave me high fives when I walked in the store. It was really fun. I think I would do all of this again if I could. It was really really a great time.

I don't care what they change so long as it's user-replaceable, and until then, I will continue to recommend against them to customers. As it stands, it's barely technician-replaceable, as the rubber bottom normally gets torn in opening the thing.
I got to agree with you...how could they make it so difficult...remember the overheating issues...it really runs too hot...idea is good but I would not buy it all over again I would buy separate router and backup hard drive...

Try saving them as .gif instead of .jpeg, and do like others have said regarding your color management options.
Also, if you are talking about the way that the page previews in Dreamweaver "Design View", I can attest that DW doesn't render color the same way that most browsers will. So it's the in-browser preview that matters most.

I just got my hands on a Power Mac G5. I got it off a guy for $150!! Let me say, it's an incredible machine. Dual 2.5 G5's with 2Gig of RAM. I installed 10.5.8 on it.
This machine blows both my 2009 13" Macbook and 2008 Mini out of the water when it comes to speed and smoothness. As is it, FCP runs so much better than my Intel Macs that I am in total Awww of it... (can u tell I'm excited about this 6 year old computer :) )
Since I got it so cheap, I want to upgrade the hell out of it and use it as my primary machine (age of it be damned). I want to expand the RAM fully to 16 GB, put a fast 2 GB HDD in, and get the best possible Video card available.
I have 2 questions:
1. What is the best GPU available for this machine??
I know you don't hear many people wanting to make an older machine their primary computer, but this thing is really a monster...
Any thoughts???? Thanks in Advance.

Wait a minute, when you say you have a Dual 2.5 G5 and wish to expand it to 16GB - Are you sure you have the Late 2004 Dual 2.5 G5 which is notorious for springing leaks, or do you have the G5 Quad which is from October 2005 - Summer of 2006?
G5 Quad can be expanded all the way to 16GB and possibly more now that 4GB chips are available in DDR2.
