Its a nice vision. But as people getting green card they would
leave here..Any organization needs money to survive...Who
will donate it? But I agree that we need an organization
to represent ourselves.
Certain things we could address after GC Retrogression is
undercontrol ( if ever happens)
1. Address FBI name check issue..
2. Bring back VISA revalidation inside USA so that we
dont have to make a trip to US embassy..
3. Work for getting Social Security money back if we returns to home country.
....etc etc........
As time pass by old issues may be solved, but new issues will
surface.....
So I'll support an organization for sure!

Majority of the senior member complain that the people with green card and citizenship do not support immigration voice; then the question becomes what is our vision. If we confine ourselves to the benefit that we all should get green card, then what is the need for someone who has already got a green card to visit this web site. Humans are need based animals, whether you like it or not tomorrow if I get my Green Card (A big IF) it is very much likely that my visit to this website will be minimized. My priorities will be different. So core group should get a better vision statement which might address all immigrants.
The reason I came to immigration voice is slightly different, because I am still not convinced enough to accept that core group could do something which will make our law makers� act different. I support immigration voice on a bigger picture, it unites all immigrants together, and the website provides me support to all my immigration need. For example, I can search the website and find information regarding visa stamping, H1 quota and what my fellow countrymen think about it. So my sincere advice to the core group is to create a vision statement which is much bigger than the green card issue and which will make sure all immigrant no matter with green card or not will visit our website. Make the vision statement visible in the website. You have much better exposure through this. I have to agree, I am writing this out of frustration :D , but to be honest, do not treat this website for green card retrogression alone, treat it as something bigger, which will address all immigrant needs.

A small amendment for this bill could make everyone including high skilled and low skilled happy.
Have arrived here at the age of 75 or under;
Delete the section Serve in the military or attend college for at least two years
Portions of DREAM bill introduced in both houses say that children of ilegal immigrants will be allowed pathway to citizenship if;
Have arrived here at the age of 15 or under;
Have lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years;
Graduate from high school;
Serve in the military or attend college for at least two years; and
Have good moral character.
Now our children (children of legal immigrants)? do they qualify under any of these that are cited above? Infact yes, they do under all of these. If they can introduce bills to consider the children of undocumented / ilegal immigrants, why is there no pathway for citizenship for the children of legal immigrants? Ofcourse they fall under our petitions, but they should be given priority over the others, particularly since their parents pay the most tax/social security etc etc.

I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?

I did not receive my EAD card - It was approved on Aug 21st...Not sure what went wrong with USPS.

My final question would be YES I was told that I will have a new ID and new payroll number and a separate paycheck but what can be done to rectify this situation. Like do they have to amend the H1B petition(mine is a non-cap hospital--- a charity hospital).
My H1B stipulates that I am a full-timer with 40 hrs per week but starting from next week it is going to be 32 sometimes and 40 hrs some weeks as we are not seeing many patients into our hospital due to the economy,jobs etc.
What is the solution. Do I have to move to a different job or can there be a solution to work for the same company (in different branches)

For the AC21/180 day I always thought that the counting would start in my case from 03-Aug. However my company lawyer says that it will start from 20-Oct and I am at a complete loss on this..
Is it really true.
This is really urgent since I stand to lose out big time on an excellent job offer.
What are my options here - Is there any documentation that I can show to him that I am correct (If I am).

His PD is July 2006. He would have gotten the 2 year EAD either way. EB2 India is June 01 2006.

---Yes depends on your H1 validity one can continue working although I-94 stamp paroled for 1yr validity expired ie AOS pending status will let you in and contine the work on H1 or EAD

I received an RFE for my EAD and AP a few days ago. This has to do with me not registering myself during the NSEERS Special Registration. They want to know why i did not register for the NSEERS.
I visited an attorney around March 2003 regarding the Special Registration and was adviced that I dont have to register because my last entry to the U.S. was in January 2003. That was when return for school after going back home for my Christmas holiday. I have been an F-1 student since September 1998.
Reading the NSEERS requirement (http://www.ice.gov/doclib/pi/specialregistration/Call_In_Group4.pdf), my interpretation is that i should be exempted since my last entry to the U.S. is AFTER September 30, 2002. Is my interpretation right or wrong?
Please advice.

My question is my amendment is still on pending process since September 17th. Will I be out of status if the school or I cancel my I-20 BEFORE the result of pending process of my H1B amendment?( Am I safe since I already passed October 1st?)
Second question is:Can I do an H1B transfer to another company in such a situation?

I'm currently on h1b, with PERM approved and I-140 filing in progress.
At what stage of the green card process can I write iPhone Apps for the Apple App Store and accept payments for them?
I know I'm allowed to own a company but not take a salary on h1b. So would it be possible to incorporate a company and then let the money accumulate in company accounts until I get to the stage when I can accept payments? Can the company pay for development resources such as equipment and accessories needed for developing the Apps even if I don't take a salary?

Me and my wife used AP at SF airport couple of months ago. The process was very smooth and IOs know exactly what to do with this document. However you will be sent to secondary and you will have to wait there for around 30 minutes (sounds like normal process everywhere else too).
