So, I picked one up the other day. Trying to find the "sweet spot" is really annoying. I'm assuming your supposed to keep adjusting the 3DS and your head until you don't see two images anymore, and that's the so-called sweet spot?
Honestly, I don't really see that much of a difference. There's a little more depth to with 3D effect (but it's not in your face like a 3D ride at Disney World or like Avatar where stuff was floating in the air). The AR games are neat except they require a cardboard card (Really Nintendo? Wasn't this idea a huge failure with Animal Crossing e-Reader on the GameCube?)
Pilotwings is also pretty terrible. I can't wait for the Virtual Console to launch. I'm glad Super Mario Land will be a launch title. Hopefully, Nintendo will iron out the 3DS kinks in time.

that's exactly what i was wondering about! i don't know if EU regulations apply to the ipad, but they certainly do apply to the iphone. and i think, apple has to include a miniUSB port (standardized charger) to the iphone 5 if they want to sell it here in europe. a simply dock connector just won't do.

Just what can Target say? "If you allow Apple do do something that might cut into out DVD sales we will intentionally sell fewer DVD" Kind of like holding a gun to your head threatening to shoot.

So the person he's making the threat to has to ask, is this guy rational, or no? If not, maybe it would be best to placate him. However, if you think he's going to act in his own self interest, call his bluff.
I doubt Target would go through with any kind of threat, since it only makes sense to retaliate if you think it will affect future behavior (hurting yourself once may be worth it if it's going to make your future threats more believable). Ahh, I love game theory. But what future behavior is Target going to care about affecting? Do they foresee several similar battles with the movie studios that might turn their way if they carried out this threat?

This is the stupidest POS news. AM I RIGHT? Can't buy an iPhone ONLINE in NY for a day and something is interesting about this? I can't believe CNBC is so anxiously awaiting tablet and new iphone news that they think this is significant.
This has been going on for a long time. You could not order an iPhone for at least for the past month from AT&T in New York state. I know. I tried and family members have tried as well. I thought it was a website error originally until criss1205 had mentioned it. It's just that nobody had checked this out until a couple of days ago.

You are unwise to choose a side in a fight where neither parties give a rat's ass about you. It's not liberalism or conservatism that has failed to do anything. It's both. Our government is at a standstill.
But I know they need their vacation time. And of course, they need their pensions even if they only serve one term. It's a lot of hard work accomplishing nothing and we owe them so much.

This may just be the beginning. The article in Wired talks about "Data Hogs" and how ATT has been trying to get them to throttle back their usage. How, I don't know. I've been noticing more and more dropped calls on 3G as of late, so much that I have to disable it just to be able to make and complete a call.
Think about it for a second: if this were really an effort to reduce network traffic, it would be a piss-poor way of going about it. For one thing, denying the iPhone to new customers would be far less dependable than throttling data speed. For another, they're closing down only one of many distribution channels, meaning that people in NYC will still be able to get all the iPhones they want. Finally, this would be a public admission that their network is insufficient...and more fodder for the Verizon commercials. You can't tell me that that's not first in every AT&T Wireless executive's mind right now.
I don't know what's going on -- everything is just speculation based on what some low-level AT&T employees (probably new ones who couldn't get out of the holiday shift) said. And I'm not going to jump to any conclusions. I'm just saying that the Consumerist's interpretation doesn't make much sense.
But, if it was really about fraud in certain areas - wouldn't that mean that you can't purchase ANY phone from ATT online? Why would it only apply to the iPhone?

Can someone tell me how can a small SD card be able to hold 2t. If this is the case why are most External HD so much bigger?
It doesn't at the moment. The biggest capacities are 64GB. The standard allows for cards up to 2TB, when they eventually arrive (maybe in 5-10 years).

As the new 'bug' section says: there is a resizing bug when viewing the back. Click the bottom of the widget to make it large before you view prefs to get the smoothest transition.
The code cleanup is needed now more than ever. This was one of the lasts steps in the beta stage. I will now (appart from fixing some more - user reported - bugs maybe) start working on the widget from scratch. Less code, nicer graphics, easier to use. It will take a while though.
Any request on widget abilities will be considered.
Time to enjoy the weather.

Personally I find 15" just a tad large for real portability.
I know this is me dreaming, but what about a hi-res 14.1" inch version "Pro" version. I think the extra space would allow for a faster CPU/GPU combo. Do that with an IPS screen, TB, and USB 3.0 and I it would hit a sweet spot I think.
But then I have this crazy, unfounded hunch that once Apple finally dumps the optical drive on the Macbooks we'll see hybrid Pro/Air machines that are around .6" thick with an 11", 14", 16"(maybe 18") 16X9 lineup instead of the 13", 15", 17" 16X10 lineup of today. No justification, just a fanboy's hunch.

Once I have a decent method of getting my movies from my computer to my TV (i.e. iTV), and iTunes has more selection, I plan on never buying another DVD again. I'm in the minority here I'm sure, but for how long? How long before digital distribution is the method of choice for your average Joe?
I agree, except for one little thing===> HD Content distribution. No real solution for that one yet. You can't very easily d/l a 25GB HD movie. Even compressed, it's a massive freakin' file. I don't think there's a comsumer level internet connection that could support such content offerings.
So where does that leave us? We'll be able to d/l SD movies & TV. Brick and Mortar retailers can continue to sell hard copies with special features and HD DVD/Blu-Ray discs as well. Any retailer worth their weight in liquid soap will markup premium content and delivery formats, and everything will work out fine, until the next big change or trend.

I don't see how these delivery methods can't work hand in hand.

Used to hate the 30pin dock connector till I realized how much it combines.
I love the inclusion of USB3.0.
I just hope the old dock ports/cables will be backwards compatible, I've got so many dock cables.
Also hope Apple will also release something like this to comply with the EU standards...

Well, if we were vehement about dismissing their review of the iPhone 4 as flawed then shouoldn't we be consistent and do the same for the iPad. If they're not worth paying attention to because of bad review then why laud them for picking the iPad as the best tablet. I'm just say'in.

Man com on Apple! Really! I RUN MY LIFE BY MY IPHONE ALARM CLOCK! I NEVER planed on a back up BEFORE my iPhone when daylight savings time happened why should I NOW? Get this right or I'm leaving for the other phone that has never had this, oh wait, yes they did. Then I'm leaving for my old alarm clock which always changed on its own reliably - oh wait, never mind.
