- just a note - I would also strongly recommend filing your spouse's AOS as soon as possible (once current). Please note that this should be done prior to receiving approval for your Adjustment.

The cost varies, depending on the attorney fees and what advertising is done. Generally, it would probably cost $6000 - $12,000 for PERM. The employer must pay this, you cannot pay any of it.

PD Transfer can even be done @ i-485 stage too, but that's not as straight a process as porting it at the I-140 stage. But technically, it can be done at I-485 too.

Hello,
My I-140 got denied based on my Education.
I have 3 yrs + PG Diploma which is equivalent to US Degree according to my education evaluation.
Experience:
- 6 yrs of OUTSIDE USA experience
- 5 yrs of USA experience including 2 yrs of experience with current company.
- I am working as FULL time with an American Company at present
The JOB Description for PERM was:
"Bachelor�s degree in Computer Science plus 5 years experience; 3 year Bachelor�s degree plus 2 year post-graduate diploma in Software Engineering and 5 years experience acceptable. "
Gurus, please help me providing some info, if there is any chance of getting it approved if I file a Motion.. or what should I do next?
Since it was denied on Aug 4th this month, I have 30 days to reopen this case..
Please advise me..

Thanks all for your kind assistance.
After consulting with another owner of a D-100 (which I accidently met on the street) it seems that the problem is indeed power source related.
I do a six normal batteries and when I replaced it all went well.
One more thing.
Do u guys know a 4gb memory cerd (Hitachi's). The camera display is different when I use this card and an original (much smaller) one.
When using the 4gb card I can't see the number of photos left. Is this normal?
Is the card infected with some virus? Or maybe I received some cheap used card ?

I don't want you to freak out because my case is probably a very small fraction of the visa applications BUT since this thread is specifically related to PIMS, I thought I'd give you my example. Good news for you is, you are going to India. I was stuck in Canada not knowing long it might take for the PIMS to get updated. I ended up touring North Canada but I wish I could've traveled with a peace of mind.

Does this mean I can port the PD even if I moving from a technical position to a managerial position in a different company. of course I know one has to file a new perm and I140 with the new company.
refiling perm and 140 may be to help you promote from eb3 to eb2 category and still let you keep the old PD.
Also, refiling could be required if your job categories are changing. from technical to managerial or so.

Since the experience was combined in my education evaluation, CIS is now asking for a new evaluation based solely on education.
If you cld submit an eval just for education, you shld be ok

I think it might be CT issue. There is an ongoing immigration fraud investigation against state employees so now they are over doing enforcement.
I had problem when I wanted to register my Car in New Jersey. I had moved to New Jersey from MA, so I had MA license at that time and was staying temorarily at my cousin's place. When I went to one DMV they told me that you need to have NJ driver's license to register my car. I told them the situation and that I was going to get NJ license once I get my place, but they just didn't register my car. I went twice at that place and got same answer.
Then I went to different DMV and the guy understood my situation and gave me a temporary NJ driver license number (NOT driver license) and registered my car. TOld me to give this number when I come to get NJ license and everything worked fine.
Its just some poeple don't want to know about some this or just want to create problems.

Friends, I would like to know if I change job after I-140 & I-485 approval, do I still need to notify USCIS about AC-21. Also, will it require my new employer to provide a letter of job duties to confirm that the new job is either same or similar to the old one.

Sad to see this friend. I dont think it affects principal candidate's processing but dependant's processing may be in trouble.

Look how desperate we have become, someone is ready to shell 10k per family member to get GC.
I agree and disagree with you guys.
I disagree because, we all are legal immigrants, we have to be given priority as the American economy needs people like us. H1-B not only means growth in tech but also economy. All the H1-B personnel spend a good amount of money here on (Rent, car, insurance, food, travel) with all this new jobs and much more will be benificial to this country.
We should not be charged such amount to get what we deserve.
On the other hand- I agree to pay 10k per familiy member because, we are stuck at one place with lots of problems without GC.
Most of us are not sure whether they will be staying at one place to do an investments like buying a house. Wife cant work etc.
Keeping all the above in mind even If we loose 10k per member we will make that in less then 6 months when compared to waiting for a GC for years.
