A great commercial. As a teacher who is getting 30 ipads for next years students I am super pumped. These truly are the future of education and I can't wait to have my students start using them.
Wow!!!
I've heard stories but DAYUM!!!
Do you teach at a public, charter or private school. And what grade?

That's a very public beta which has been steadily improved over that time (the last update was yesterday). Unlike Apple, Adobe haven't charged for the beta experience. Amusingly, some of the top new Apple "innovations" are clones of Lightroom features.
Yes, a very good point. And it makes me wonder if Adobe will ever charge for it. In fact, now they have rebranded it Adobe "Photoshop" Darkroom, it leads me to believe it will be included as part of Photoshop and not as a seperate product. This might also be why they haven't released it yet, since the next version of Photoshop isn't finished. This strategy would undercut Apple since most photography professionals undoubtedly already own Photoshop and will upgrade.

Looks like Roambi??
Second guess is MicroStrategy
Could very well be, but I haven't seen that particular coolness demoed anywhere. Maybe an upcoming version of one of those, or some other business data visualizer?

Is it too late for April Fool's?
Edit - I kinda want a McRib now...
Ditto.
Would have made the app myself, but I assumed it would have been rejected. It's moves like this that make me dislike apple.

I don't like this. Apple, give us an option to choose the iOS slider buttons!
Or I will throw all my apple products out the window. :o:mad::apple:

I remember the first time I saw OS X at CompUSA in Burbank. I fell in love and that's when I became a MacHead.

Nothing on the cinema displays? Does anyone else think the displays are rapidly loosing market share due to a lack of updates over the last 18+ months?
i agree. I think it would have made sense to drop them in price in line with the mac pro update...and they didnt
so i then thought there was something new and radical at macworld...and no.
only thing i can think of now, is that they will get an update alongside a mac mini update (whenever that happens) because IMO they are starting to look very overpriced!

It works in Slashdot, but only because you have Kudos rating and meta-moderation.
Without meta-moderation the trolls get equal voting powers to everyone else - and all hell will break loose as people vote up friends and down 'enemies'.
I think it's a good idea in general though. It would be great to cut through a 30 page thread and see only the top 10 posts.

I'm a gun person ...
I, on the other hand, am very anti-gun.
However, even I got a chuckle out of the bumper that read, Guns kill people, like spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.
But then I thought about it ... spoons are eating utensils ... perhaps we should call guns killing utensils.

It's taking a lot on trust to just click 'Accept' and most of the time it's OK... But check out the South Park episode for how it could go wrong..! :)
The location collection opt-in is NOT simply tied to agreeing to your TOS/EULA. It's a fairly clear and concise dialog and entirely optional:

Fees for the data for that one device. But please don't start a "tethering is awesome v. tethering is against the rules" war here, there's plenty of other threads for that.
I'm not starting any war. I just think that their data fees should be set to cover the bandwidth usage. Who cares how many devices are used? Shouldn't the bytes count? To the operator it's just a stream of bytes. A stream of bytes that intensifies if you use more bandwidth, so the bandwidth used should be covered, not the devices.

...but how about confining ads to this app rather than on individual apps. This way it's a conscience decision on the user to go into the ads.
Just a thought. Now let me wear my rose-colored glasses.

No, I expect them to check on the woman when she's lying on the floor. I expect them to not tell the two woman who beat her up to go away before the cops get there.
I agree they are idiots and I already stated they should call the cops.
OP, I clicked on the article and the title is different from this thread. I do agree that the employees on duty at McDonald's be held responsible in the beating of a trans woman.

System Preferences sorted alphabetically has been around for awhile now. If I recall correctly, I think I even remember it in Tiger. Not sure about anything before that.
They are currently sorted into the four categories first, and then alphabetically in those categories. It seems Lion is throwing everything together and doing away with categories

I bet it is simply..."We have the iPad 2 in stock and no one else does. Come get one."
Maybe they'll hire some drunk to stand on the corner in an iPad costume like all the tax preparation places do for March-April 15.

I predict that some of my friends, Android-phone owners will want to throw their device away. Google is making things less fun for them, unless they want to root.
???
Get your facts straight
This is the carriers messing people over, not Google.
Google added wireless hotspot feature to all Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices last year (and Apple included a similar feature in to the iPhone 4 with IOS 4 AFAIK).

 I just refreshed before you said that and I saw that too. Ah, well. We don't know any details so the wait isn't completely lost.
Still, that's pretty annoying... I'd only uncovered one of those two out of my own stupidity...

Hardly. Do look up "affront" in a dictionary.
Sure it is. I find your particular brand of narrow-mindedness offensive. Therefore it is an affront.
...and with that you have nothing to offer me anymore... Goodbye...

It's hard to believe that you guys are making this effort to not "spoil".
Yeah, it is kind of wierd, considering this is MacRumours, where mostly everyone comes to find out about Apple stuff before it is actually announced

Isn't it interesting how a seemingly intentional act (active user tracking) changes to a "bug" once it's existence is published in the news media? :D

Personally, I think those of us trying to by a more efficient vehicle would be better served by buying smaller cars and switching to diesel power. People like to believe that by switching to a hybrid drivetrain they can have their cake (own a monstrously large SUV) and eat it too (drive guilt-free because it's a hybrid). But that is fantasy. Hybrid SUVs get better gas mileage than their non-hybrid counterparts - but are still not very economical. Lifestyle changes (buying smaller vehicles) will make a much bigger impact compared with buying huge, gas-guzzling hybrid trucks and SUVs.
Switching from a Tahoe to a Tahoe hybrid is just window dressing. Switching from, say, a Ford Explorer to a diesel Golf - now that will make a difference.
